He put her in a pumpkin-shell.

And there he kept her very well.

Jack and Jill went up the hill,

To fetch a pail of water;

Jack fell down, and broke his crown.

And Jill came tumbling after.

The man in the moon,

Came down too soon,

To inquire his way to Norwich.

He went by the south,

And burnt his mouth

With eating cold pease porridge.
